PKZip file compression utilities
The ever-popular file compression/decompression utility package.
This tool will safely shrink most files to a fraction of their original size.
A typical use for this is to combine a group of CAD files into a single .zip
file for fast transfer over a modem. Gerber files are often reduced 80% or
more in size. This is a self-extracting file, containing the full package of tools.
PCBTemp, conductor width calculator
For the design engineer, this Windows-based calculator will help determine
proper trace widths with consideration given to current and temperature.
This is a freeware, self-extracting file.
Protel EasyTrax, PCB layout package
This DOS-based program is intended for hobbyists, students, and part-time
designers. It features a component library, multi-layer capability, trace
routing assistance, Gerber output, a tutorial, and more. Designs can be saved
and imported into Protels full-featured layout programs.
This is a freeware, self-extracting file.
IPC Online Services
A link to free email forums where 1400+ designers, fabricators, and assemblers
openly discuss their problems, questions, and concerns. An archive of past
forum messages and a Product and Services Locator can also be found there.
